What is minimally invasive surgery?

Minimally invasive surgery uses specialized techniques to perform complex surgeries with a high level of precision. This type of surgery requires only small incisions to make repairs or remove damaged tissues or reproductive organs.

Endometrial ablation

Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure to remove the endometrium (lining of the uterus) to treat heavy periods and pelvic pain. At The Howard Center, we use the NovaSure® radiofrequency ablation system, which only takes five minutes.

We have completed over 5,000 endometrial ablations. 

Hysterectomy

A laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove your uterus and other reproductive organs. This type of surgery can address endometriosis and other conditions that aren’t treatable with conservative therapies.

To date, our team has performed over 1,800 minimally invasive hysterectomy procedures. 

TVT surgery

Tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) surgery is a treatment option for urinary incontinence, a condition that causes unexpected urine leaks. The procedure involves creating a sling with mesh tape to support your urethra to prevent incontinence symptoms.

Our team has performed over 1,600 TVT surgeries.

Operative laparoscopy

Operative laparoscopy is a surgical procedure to diagnose and treat endometriosis and other gynecologic conditions and to remove fibroids. The procedure uses a thin, flexible instrument that fits into small incisions in the abdomen to repair or remove damaged tissue or reproductive organs.
